Welcome to SORCE

You are joining us at the most exciting time! So let’s get started!

SORCE is the Sustainable Oceanic Research, Conservation, and Education field school. We are a non-profit marine conservation organisation focusing our efforts initially in Indonesia, within the Coral Triangle. We are dedicated to ensuring a positive future for our marine ecosystems and their inhabitants, achieved through scientific action and public engagement.

With the help of our students, we work endlessly towards our vision in the hopes that our efforts can help to combat the negative effects of human activity on the environment by fuelling a climate for change.

But we can’t do it alone. We need your help.

Together we can have a genuine and lasting impact on both the marine environment and all of the incredible creatures that reside within it.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY…

“I have nothing but good things to say. The Conservation projects are thorough and effective, and it is great to be diving with a purpose everyday. It is great to have the opportunity to learn, and then put this into practice through things such as fish surveys. Beyond the diving, Kara and Mike are the most welcoming hosts; they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and by the end you feel like part of the family”

- Charlie Harwood

“I‘m definitely planning on coming back and would recommend this to anyone who is looking to do some good for the environment, is interested in research or simply wants to get some amazing dives done in a beautiful area that mass tourism hasn’t touched yet”

- Sophie Bruder

“This has been one of the best experiences of my life, I instantly felt at home as soon as I arrived. What an amazing and passionate family doing everything that conservation is all about. It’s not just amazing diving and education but also a great team who work there. I’m looking forward to making SORCE a regular stop in my life in Bali”
